Holiday Tips - How to Survive the Airport

For many people, the airport is the most stressful part of the holiday. Sometimes the process is a dream, but much more commonly it feels like a nightmare. If it isn't a giant queue at check-in, then it's frantically checking your million bags for your passport or losing your way in the maze of gates and having to run through the airport to catch your plane. Indeed, airport experiences are never going to be perfect, but here are some tips to make sure yours is as painless as possible:

Before you get there:

- Check and double-check your itineraries
- Make sure any special needs are sorted out before you leave for the airport
- Gather all important documents together and store them in a safe place so you won't spend ages panicking and searching for your passport
- If possible, use a check-in online option. Maybe airlines offer them these days and they can safe you a lot of time, particularly if you only have carry-on baggage.
- Double-check you have no banned items in your carry-on luggage: be extra careful, as this can be include harmless-looking things like nail files
- Seal any liquids, gels and creams you'll be taking with you in a clear plastic bag ready for inspection. Check online ahead of time how large the containers are allowed to be - often it is less than 150ml and includes things like makeup and cosmetics.
- Research the airport online to find out how long it usually take to get from checking in to reaching your gate.
- Dress comfortably - dress in layers so you can be comfortable whatever the temperature happens to be.

Getting to the airport:

- Allow yourself plenty of time - two hours ahead of your departure time for international flights and one hour ahead for domestic flights.
- If necessary, plan your transport and route to the airport.
- If driving, make sure you have booked airport parking in advance. If a friend is driving, make sure they are aware where drop-off points or short-term parking are.
- If taking public transport, check beforehand that there are no road works or expected delays that could lengthen your journey time.

On arrival:

- Prepare yourself for the worst-case scenario - bring some snacks and something to read in case of long waits
- Do not leave your baggage unattended (this goes without saying, surely?)
- Watch the display boards announcing your departure gate for any updates.
- Drink plenty of water before the flight to avoid becoming dehydrated.

The New T1 at Barcelona Airport - What the Changes Mean For Passengers

It was in June of this year that Barcelona El Prat airport's brand new Terminal One opened for passengers and, so far, it has managed to avoid most of the teething problems which beset similar events in Madrid and London Heathrow. Early indications were that, although check-in was taking a little longer than usual, passengers were, on the whole, impressed by the new buildings.

Designed by Spanish architect Ricardo Bofíll, the new terminal, has an abundance of impressive statistics - 168 check-in desks, 15 baggage carousels (each one equivalent to 4 in the old terminal) and already 81 shops and restaurants, which will rise to a total of 116 when everything is fully operational.

But what does it mean for people flying to Barcelona, apart from the fact they will have more shops?

Well, until the early autumn, the only airlines flying in and out of the terminal will be those of the Star Alliance group but then One World Alliance partners, Vueling and Sky Team will also join them. The majority of the low cost airlines will continue to fly into the old terminal for the time being. Previously, El Prat had three designated terminals in the building, A,B and C and these will simply be re-named Terminal 2A, 2B and 2C. Obviously travellers will need to check their ticket to confirm which terminal they will be flying into. If your ticket simply says Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 then you should have no problems but, for a short time, there might be people with A,B or C on their ticket. If that is the case, then you will need to check with your airline or the AENA website because the ticket does not contain the up-to-the-minute information you require.

Terminal 1 does have two large car parks - with in excess of 12,000 spaces - with plenty of Blue Badge spaces on the second floor of each of the nine-storey blocks. There are shuttle buses linking the two terminal buildings - a 14 minute journey which is free to passengers - and, if you should be passing through Barcelona in transit and need to change Terminal buildings for your connecting flight, there are airside shuttles.

For those people who want to journey into Barcelona by train, the RENFE station remains adjacent to Terminal 2 but there is a shuttle bus service from the new building.

A word of warning here, though. At the time of writing, you would be strongly advised not to take a taxi from Terminal 1 to the station or Terminal 2 unless it is a genuine emergency. The minimum fare, even for this journey of less than 10 minutes, is currently €20.

If you ever had to walk the length of what is now Terminal 2 in order to get from Terminal A to C, you will be relieved to know that in the new Terminal 1, although the distances can be equally as long, at least there are moving walkways. It is just as well as some of the gates are quite a distance from the main areas.

Anyone who suffered in the congestion of the old El Prat terminal building cannot help but be overjoyed at the opening of the new Terminal 1. With plenty of space - it covers 134.43 acres of land, an abundance of retail and food outlets as well as places to wait, and with some splendid views over the runways, the sea and nearby wooded areas, it should make Barcelona airport a much more pleasant experience.

See Barcelona Travelogue for more information on Barcelona Airport and flights to Barcelona.

Is it Wise to Buy Miles?

I seem to have been inundated with emails from frequent-flyer programs, reminding me that I can buy Miles - and some have been offering special deals on the purchase price as well. The most aggressive at selling Miles are the US airlines. For many of them, their frequent-flyer programs are the most profitable part of the operation. They make very large sums by selling Miles to credit-card companies and retailers. European airlines are rather different because most of them try to restrict their programs to people who genuinely are frequent flyers, but that does not stop them doing all they can to sell more Miles.

While people still complain that they cannot book the exact flights they want, the fact is that airlines are very anxious for passengers to use their Miles. These flights are not free and can still be very lucrative for the company.

Now that airlines have to display their fares inclusive of taxes and charges, it is easy to forget the huge chunk that these add on to the fare. The better airlines show you how these sums have been calculated. I looked at a flight in Economy to Germany with Lufthansa and the total extras came to over £90. For the same destination, BA was charging just £77. The split showed that Lufthansa was charging over £50 for fuel and security charges and, even though BA was a little less, its charges were still greater than the genuine taxes and fees. This £50 is really just part of the fare and there is no excuse for levying it separately. It does not matter to most passengers because they are just seeing a total amount - but the frequent flyer who thinks he is getting a free ticket is actually paying £50 towards the airline's costs.

Add in a booking fee, maybe a credit-card fee and, if the airline is lucky and the client has had to top up his Miles account by buying a few thousand more to pay for the deal, you can see that the airline is getting rather a lot of revenue from the 'free' ticket. I remain a great supporter of frequent-flyer programs, but these charges do mean that you have to be more careful about working out the value before cashing them in. Short European trips in Economy are likely to be of no value at all by the time all the charges have been paid.

It goes without saying that you should be even more cautious when buying Miles for cash. You should do a quick calculation: look at the cash price for the flight you want, work out how many Miles it would cost and then calculate the cost of buying all the Miles. By the time you have added on the extra taxes and charges, you will see that the cost of buying Miles is likely to be completely uneconomical.

That should not deter you from buying Miles in some circumstances:

  • If your Miles are about to expire or you need a small number to get the flight you need, then it will probably be sensible. However, you should do your calculations carefully to make sure you are not wasting money.
  • When airlines have special reduced rates in Miles for some destinations, it can tilt the calculation in favour of buying Miles to get the special deal.
  • One-way fares can be very expensive with scheduled airlines - they often cost more than the cheapest return. However, most frequent-flyer programmes charge 50% or 60% of the standard number for that destination. Some programmes will let you make a booking right up until the day before travel, while others, like Lufthansa, will have a two- or four-day cut-off - but Lufthansa actually reduces the number of Miles required for late bookings, in complete contrast to the way it sells seats for cash, where the price goes up closer to departure. If you need a one-way ticket to Barcelona or Frankfurt next Tuesday, using Miles to pay for the ticket, and buying a substantial number of those Miles, can make very good sense.

Finally, if you are stuck with some Miles in an account with an airline that you are unlikely to use much in the future, rather than buying Miles and cashing in the account for a flight, you could consider using some of the other options available, such as a duty-free voucher, a transfer to a hotel scheme (hotels do not add taxes and fees to their free nights!) or, even, a charity donation (often the worst value of all but better than letting the Miles just expire).

Travel Tips For Pet Travel

Putting a pet on a plane for travel can be a stressful time for owners and their pet. Before you travel with your pet, it is important to make sure you have implemented the following tips to ensure your pet's safety as well as its health and well-being.

Pet Risk Destination Assessment: Check health risks in the destination area such as Lyme disease, Rabies, Heartworm, and other parasites and viruses. Treat your pet to prevent affliction. As well, check for breed restrictions at the destination before traveling. Some types of breeds and animal species are banned.

Assess Your Pet's Health: Travel can be a stressful time for any pet. Make sure that your pet is healthy. Sick, injured, too young or too old, and pregnant pets should not fly. Make sure all of the vaccinations are up-to-date. Vaccinations must be administered at least 30 days before departure. Rabies certificates should be obtained and signed no more than 10 days before departure. Make sure that your pet's nails have been clipped to protect against them hooking on the carrier's door, holes, and other small spaces. Do not feed your pet for four to six hours prior to air travel. Vomiting in the carrier is messy.

Pet Identification: Provide your pet with two identification tags. Make sure the tag contains your name, all of your contact numbers, home address, and phone number and address of your destination location. A microchip is a permanent way to identify your pet. Another option is to acquire a pet passport. A pet passport can be purchased at most local pet stores or on the internet. The passport will keep all of your pet's health information and emergency contacts readily available. Attach a photograph of your pet to the top of the carrier. This will help with identification if it gets out of the carrier. You should keep a picture in your purse or wallet. You should also place the words, "Live Animal" on the top and the sides of the carrier.

Appropriate Pet Carrier: Make sure you have a durable carrier with handles and proper locking. It should also have good ventilation and the pet should be able stand up, turn around and lie down. Write your home and destination contact information on the carrier. On the inside, lay comfortable bedding such as linen. As well, place ice cubes in the pet's dish in the carrier. It will melt during the trip and provide the pet with water without making a mess.

Know Your Airline's Pet Policies: Pet policies differ among the various airlines. Some airlines have such restrictions as cabin weight limitations, a certain breed prohibited, no pets when there is bad weather, and certain pet carrier guidelines. Make sure you call ahead of time to obtain the essential information for flying with your pet.

Traveling with a pet requires much planning and preparation. When you pack for your pet, make sure to include leashes, collar, food, medication and its favorite toy. Following the above tips will help ensure a safe and less stressful trip on the airplane making your trip much more relaxing and enjoyable.

Discount Airfare For Students - How to Get a Rock Bottom Price on Your Next Plane Trip

A discount airfare for students can be hard to come by if you do not know where to look. Sure, many of the airlines provide student passes and things of that nature, but even these will not get you the lowest prices that can be had. Here I am going to share with you 3 tips that you can use in order to get dirt cheap prices on airline travel and save literally hundreds of dollars on your next flight.

1. One of the first things that I usually do is to check and see if their are any flights leaving at odd hours for the destination that I want to go to. If you can find a flight that leaves at a strange hour then chances are it is not going to fill to capacity and you will have a golden opportunity to get a great deal by negotiating with the airline.

2. Another method that I have used with success to save a ton of money is to contact the airlines directly by their telephone hotline. This is a method that many travelers overlook because they assume that the airlines are not going to have very good pricing. This could not be further from the truth, and I am going to tell you why. You see the airlines often times run specials that they do not advertise to the public, and by calling at the right time you can take advantage of some of these specials. The key is to call shortly after midnight when the systems have just been updated.

3. The best method that I have found for getting a discount airfare for students is to find someone on the inside who used to work in the industry. Sometimes these people really know true secrets on how to get amazing deals, and this method alone has saved me hundreds of dollars alone, and you can use it too.

Lowest Cost Airline Tickets - How to Get an Amazing Deal With These 3 Tips

Looking for the lowest cost airline tickets you can find, but do not seem to be getting that great deal that you want? I want to share with you 3 tips that you can use in order to save a lot of money on your next flight and many flights in the future as well. All of the big travel companies want you to think that they have the lowest rates, but in fact you can save a ton more money by knowing the right methods to get results.

1. One of the first things that I usually do is find out the departure times for the destination that I wish to travel. Often times some airlines will have flights leaving at odd hours that will not fill up, and this is your chance to get a great deal. All you have to do at this point is negotiate a deal, because most airlines would rather have you on at a discount price than not have you there at all.

2. Another method that I have used with some success is to contact the airlines directly around midnight. The reason that you want to do it so late is because many deals start at midnight, and you want to be one of the first callers so you can get a piece of the action and get the lowest cost airline tickets that you have been looking for.

3. While both of these methods have worked well for me in the past, here is a method that I have just started using a few months back with great results. Did you know that if you can get the secrets of a former employee then you can save hundreds of dollars on each flight? It makes sense, and I would love to show you how right now.

San Jose Airport Information

The San Jose Airport was first conceived in 1939 when wholesaler and future San Jose mayor Ernie Renzel purchased the Stockton Ranch with plans to build an airport there. In 1945, James Nissen, a test pilot, leased some land there to build a runway, hangar and office for his privately owned flight school. After the city approved the building of a municipal airport, Nissen sold his share of the land and worked with Renzel to plan and develop the project.

But it wasn't until 1965, after decades of planning and development, that the city saw the completion of what is now Terminal C. In 2001, SJC was renamed the Norman Y. Mineta International Airport, after another former SJ mayor and congressman.

The city of San Jose is the most populous city in the Bay Area. Its airport, however, is actually the smallest of the three airports in the region. The San Jose International Airport (SJC) services less than a third of the number of passengers that go through the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). SJC is largely used by residents for whom SFO is too far out of the way. In the next few years, however, a long-planned expansion of San Jose International Airport is come near completion. The renovation includes a brand new and bigger architectural design as well a renovated San Jose airport parking structure.

The first expansion plan was made in 2004, and it included the creation of a single, consolidated terminal with 40 gates as well as a VTA light rail and a new BART station connecting to the new terminal. There would also be a new SJC parking garage and new short-term parking structure. In 2005, however the plan was revised, and a new, more scaled back plan was passed. This new plan includes a North Concourse, expected for completion in 2010. Terminal A will be expanded, with additional check in counters; drop-off and pick-up curb space and security check points. The projected cost of this new plan is roughly $1.3 billion. The original plan was $3 billion. The sail shape design of the airport and the master plan were created by Gensler and the Steinberg Group.

When going to the airport, parking is always important to travelers. Next time when you need to park, see how San Jose airport parking makes it easier for you traveling.

Low Pricing on Airline Packages - How to Get Rock Bottom Pricing on Your Next Flight!

If you are an avid traveler, or have a special trip coming up then I bet you are interested in low pricing on airline packages. It seems that many people have bought into the idea that the airline companies are out to get them, and that if you want to fly anywhere it is going to cost a large chunk of money. I am here to disprove that myth, and show you how you can save hundreds of dollars on your very next flight.

1. The first thing that you need to do is see what times the flights to the destination of your choice are leaving. Many times if a flight is scheduled at a weird time then it will not fill up with passengers, thus leaving you the ability to negotiate with the airlines to get a great price.

2. In addition to this trip, you can increase your savings on airline tickets and find low pricing on airline travel by contacting the airlines directly. What this will allow you to do is get some great deals that are not even advertised on the television, internet, or anywhere else. Calling the hotline for a particular airline shortly after midnight can get you some really great deals.

3. While the two tips above work great, nothing has worked for me quite like what I am about to share with you. The real secret is to know someone on the inside that used to work in the airline industry who can really show you how to get low pricing on airline travel to any destination. The best part is that you can do it right online just like I did.

How to Find Cheap Airfare

Are you planning to go on a vacation lately? Do you feel troubled due to inadequate information about how to find cheap flights and hence spend extra money on your air tickets? If yes, then we have a few suggestions for you as how you can find best airfares for your trip.

Finding cheap flights is not as easy as it sounds. Even the most experienced travel agents cannot predict about the price of an air ticket. You may find many vendors on Internet that claims to offer best deals for you trip; however, it is not advisable to trust everything they say. The only way to find cheap airfare is to stick to the golden rule of planning your trip ahead of time and remain flexible with your date of trip. Many a times, people prefer charter flights for their trips for two reasons.

First, they are comparatively cheaper than regular flights; second, it is possible to get a very cheap air ticket if you book the flight at last minute.

Sometimes, we get an air ticket at a very cheap rate which actually proves to be more expensive than a regular flight. For example, some airports may charge you extra, food may not be included in the fare, and you may need to spend a few more dollars for food and that is how the total cost of a trip actually sums to more than anticipated. So, it is better to look at all the options so that you can choose a flight that minimizes your expenses.

Cheap air tickets are usually difficult to be canceled. So, if there is a sudden change in your plan, you may lose all your money spent on that air ticket. So, it is better to go with an airline that allows you to cancel a ticket and pays at least a partial sum of your money back after cancellation.

Asia, in my view is one of the popular holiday destinations where you can find a cheap flight easily for.

Egypt Travel - Getting There and Around

Egypt's mystical and timeless appeal has for centuries seen the ancient country being ranked among the most spectacular sightseeing destinations in the world.

Egypt is reached by air, water as well as road and rail. Those travelling by air can come in through Cairo International Airport, Alexandria, Nozah, Luxor and Aswan in Upper Egypt, Hurghaba in the Red Sea area, and Sharm El-Sheikh in South Sinai.

There are several airliners that offer Egypt flights including British Airways, Alitalia, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Royal Dutch Airlines, and Thai Airways International.

In addition to airports there are a number of marine harbors for those that prefer to travel by sea. For those travelling on the Mediterranean Sea, the ports of Alexandria, Port Said, and Damietta are all possible entry points. There is also a port right at the Gulf of Suez and another, the port of Nuweiba on the Gulf of Aqaba. The Red Sea offers three options for travellers; the ports of Hurghaba, Safaga, and Sharm El-Sheikh.

For those who prefer road trips, there are three overland entry posts. The Salloum entry post is located on the northwestern border (for those coming in from Lybia). The famous Rafah crossing is on the northeastern border for those coming in from the Gaza strip, the Occupied Territories, and Israel. On the eastern border there is a post at Taba for those coming in from Israel.

Getting the right paper work and visa is essential to a stress free entry into Egypt. Non-Egyptian visitors arriving in Egypt are required to be in possession of a valid passport. Visas can be obtained from either the Egyptian Diplomatic and consular Missions Abroad, the Entry Visa Department, or from Immigration and Nationality Administration (TDINA). However it is possible for visitors to obtain an entry visa at any major points of entry.

Visitors entering Egypt at the overland border post to Taba to visit Gulf of Aqaba coast and St. Catherine can be exempted from visa and granted a free residence permit for fourteen days to visit the area. Citizens of the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa: Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chechnya, Croatia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Lebanon, Macau, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, The Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Sri-Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and all African countries.

Those in possession of a residence permit in Egypt are not required to obtain an entry visa if they leave the country and return to it within the validity of their residence permit or within six months, whichever period is less. There are three kinds of visas to Egypt. Tourist visas are usually valid for a period not exceeding three months and granted on either single or multiple entry basis. Entry visa are required of any visitors arriving in Egypt for purposes such as work, and study that are not related to tourism. This visa is necessary for the completion of the residence procedure in Egypt. Transit visas are made available to travellers transiting through Egypt. Once in Egypt, visitors have different options to get around the country in an easy and comfortable way. The options range from car rental, luxury trains, and coaches to domestic flights to connect tourist cities.

If you are coming in through Cairo International, you have the option of renting a limousine with fixed fees according to your accommodation location from the airport, or use Cairo airport transportation service which covers all the country and airports. You can request for this service through your travel agent or from the information desk at the airport.

The easiest and most common way of moving within any city is by taxis. This are easily available in the major cities, Cairo, for instance, has a fleet of air-conditioned and metered yellow cabs. One is whoever advised to book their taxis at least an hour before their intended time for their trip. In some cases it is recommended that you ask for a receipt as proof of payment to avoid any inconvenience later. Alternatively one could catch a regular taxi on the street or even in front of their hotel. They are usually coloured depending on the city they operate in. in Alexandria they are yellow and black, in Cairo they are black and white. It is very important to know the colour codes in different cities so that you minimize risks.

Egypt's major cities have a healthy bus system within and between the cities. Examples of which are Super Jet, Delta and Upper Egypt buses. They go from city to city and they provide catering facilities, toilets and on board entertainment. The con in travelling with buses is that they stop far too often thus taking too long especially on long distance trips. Rail travel is highly recommended for long distance travel.

The underground, which is comprised of two long lines, is the cheapest and fastest way to move inside Cairo and Giza governorate especially in the rush hours (from 2 pm to 5pm). The first, from Helwan to El Marg has 33 stops; the second, from Giza to Shoubra El Khema has 18 stops. Note that the first carriage on each train is always strictly for women. Summer working hours are from 6:00 am to 1:00 am and winter working hours are from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Many transportation companies offer a wide choice of luxury cars and coaches with well trained drivers. Car rental agencies are represented in the major cities as well as the international and domestic airports. The train is one of the best ways to travel between major Egyptian cities.

Three kinds of trains are available: the ordinary, the express, and the turbo. The express and the turbo are the more expensive options, but they come with the advantage of a pampered journey taking you to your destination rapidly with all catering facilities and air-conditioning. An excellent turbo train service is available between Cairo and main cities around the country. The train takes about two hours to go from Cairo to Alexandria.

For those who prefer to travel by air locally, Egypt Air - the national carrier - links most of the tourist cities in Egypt with its reliable domestic flights. It is possible to fly directly from Luxor to Sharm El Sheikh or Alexandria.

Why Private Jet Charter Makes Sense During a Recession

When it comes to working through a recession, it's always a difficult balance, you still need a marketing budget, you still need to visit clients, you still need to keep your shareholders happy and you still have to make money. Efficiency is essential in everything that a business does and not just during a credit crunch or a recession. Busy executives need to work smart and spend as much time as possible being productive.

Traveling on commercial airlines through major airports you immediately see the benefits of a far more efficient approach to air travel. Even if you're traveling business or first class with a commercial airline you'll experience "dead" time at the airport of around 90-120 minutes with check-in, security and boarding. Plus there's the time already spent getting there in the first place.

If you're a regular business traveler, there is a lot to be said for flying on a private jet charter. Firstly, you have a much wider choice of airports resulting in less time spent traveling to the airport. Then you have the very short check-in times, invariably you will go from arriving at the airport to "wheels up" airborne in around twenty minutes.

Possibly more importantly is the departure time. Flying commercially restricts you to the airline's schedule, flying privately means that the flight works to your schedule. Then we consider delays in getting to the airport. If you're late for a commercial flight and miss the check-in close time, you're not going. You'll then be waiting up to twenty four hours for the next flight - for which you may have to pay extra AND how much might those delays cost your business? With a private jet charter, the jet leaves when you arrive. If your printer chews up the presentation, there's heavy traffic en-route to the airport or your meeting over runs you can relax, safe in the knowledge that your plane and your pilot will be waiting for you and ready to depart.

Then there's the comparison between private charter and full or fractional ownership. Both will offer you time saving benefits but both are rather costly alternatives with a lot of up front investment and regular additional costs.

Particularly in the current economic climate, private jet charter can make more sense to your shareholders. You won't have large up-front costs or regular monthly fees, you simply pay for the time that you fly. Book your flights with a reputable broker and invariably you'll be given the total all inclusive cost so there won't be extra charges for fuel, tax, catering or anything else. By comparison to full or fractional jet ownership you'll be spending a lot less on private jet charter flights but enjoying all of the same benefits.

In summary, you save a lot of time, spend far less than ownership or fractional ownership, enjoy VIP Class, stress free travel and get a lot more time to do your job, in any financial climate that can only be a good thing.

Rob Dore is co-owner and Marketing Director of Jet Booking Direct, which offers private jet charters and jet charter management services.

Lowest Cost Flights - The Only True Method to Getting Rock Bottom Pricing on Travel!

I bet if you are going to be flying any time soon then you are looking for the lowest cost flights that you can find. Sadly, unless you use the method that I talk about in this article you are not going to get a great deal. Here I am going to reveal to you 3 tips that I use to get cheap airline travel, with one of them being a super tip that no one ever talks about.

1. The first thing that I do when looking to fly cheap is see what the departure times are for the destination I am going to. If I can find a flight that leaves at a weird hour then I know I have potentially hit the jackpot. The reason is because most people only want to fly at regular times, and as a result you can negotiate with the airlines to get great deals on these flights because they are not in high demand.

2. Another method that I use is to contact the airline directly to see what type of specials they have going on. Often times they have 24 hours deals that are not advertised, and you can get a great deal this way. The most important thing is to call right after midnight when the systems have just been updated.

3. The super tip that I am referring to is something I have used to save thousands of dollars on airline travel, and you can use it to. It involves getting the strategies and secrets of someone on the inside. By doing this you are going to be able to get great deals that no one else knows how to get.

I do this to save hundreds on each flight, and so can you!

Cheap Flight Deals - How to Save Over $200 on Your Next Airline Ticket!

Many travelers think that cheap flight deals are hard to come by, but the truth is that it can be pretty easy if you know the proper methods to get great deals. Here I am going to share with you 3 tips that you can use in order to get some outstanding prices on your next airline trip.

1. The first thing that you have to do is be willing to fly at times that other people are not. Most people only want to fly during normal hours, so make this work to your advantage. Try to get a flight at an odd hour, and then see if you can negotiate with the airlines in order to get even lower prices. People have saved $50 or more per flight with this tip, and this is only the tip of the iceberg.

2. Another method that you can use in order to get cheap flight deals would be to contact the airlines via the hotline around midnight. The reason that you want to do it at this hour is because this is when the systems automatically update, so you want to make sure that you are one of the first ones to call in.

3. While the above two method can save you some good money, this tip is the one that will save you $200 or possibly much more. In order to really get the best deals, you need to know someone on the inside that can give you the real scoop on airline travel. When I was able to get tips for an ex airline employee on how to get cheap airline travel I was literally able to save hundreds on each flight.

Super Cheap Plane Tickets - How to Save Hundreds of Dollars on Your Next Flight!

If you are planning a trip that is going to involve flying somewhere I bet you are somewhat scared about how much you are going to have to pay for airline travel. Most of the big travel companies would not want you to know this, but the truth is that you can get super cheap plane tickets that are much less than what is advertised anywhere. The key is just knowing how to do it, and here I am going to share with you 3 tips on how you can do just that.

1. If you want to get super cheap plane tickets then you need to be willing to sacrifice some things. One great way to get amazing prices on plane tickets is to fly at times that other people do not want to. By getting these odd flight times you are going to be able to negotiate with the airlines for low prices because the demand is just not there.

2. Another great tip is to contact the airlines via a hotline and see what specials they have. You of course are usually going to get a recording, but that is okay because many times you can purchase right there over the phone. The key is to call just after midnight when the systems have been recently updated, as you will have the best chance to get a great deal.

3. The third and final tip is the one that I use most often to save hundreds on each plane ticket. If you know someone on the inside, then you are going to be able to get good deals in almost any industry right? Well the airline industry is no different, and if you can find a former employee who is willing to spill the beans then you can save a ton of money.

Airline Travel Discount Specials - 3 Super Secret Methods to Saving Hundreds on Your Next Flight!

Being the penny pincher that I am I always want to find the best deal on everything, so when I started doing a lot of traveling I knew their had to be a better way to get great deals on airline travel. Sure you can get pretty good deals from some of the big travel agencies, but I wanted something better than that. So here I am going to give you 3 tips that I have learned in order to get great airline travel discount specials and save hundreds of dollars on each flight.

1. The first thing that I usually do is see what times flights are departing for my destination. Often times flights will leave at weird times, and if this is the case then I am very happy. The reason I get excited is because I know I will be able to negotiate with the airlines in order to get a tremendous deal, because the demand for those flights are many times very low.

2. Another golden nugget I have picked up is to contact the airlines directly by phone. You will get the hotline, but if you call at the right time you may be able to get some of the 24 hour specials that the airline companies run. The key to get airline travel discount specials this way is to call just after midnight so you can get the deals after the system has just automatically been updated.

3. While these two method are effective, nothing compares to knowing someone in the industry. If you can find someone who used to work in the industry, then you are sitting on a goldmine of savings. This is because these people often know how to get deals others can't!

This is what I did, and was able to save hundreds of dollars in the process on each and every flight!

Dubai International Airport - Buzzing With Activity

Enough of all those doom and gloom predictions for Dubai, news is that Dubai airport has shown a seven percent increase in the overall traffic last year. In addition to that, five new airlines have started their services from Dubai airport, which now ranks at number 6 in the list of busiest airports in terms of international traffic (and 15th by overall traffic according to statistics in 2009). With the addition of new airlines, total number of airlines operating from Dubai international airport has reached to 130.

Remember, this investment has came at a time when airlines from all over the world are going through a crisis like situation and desperately looking to cut down costs through downsizing and other measures. And it's not only the outside investors, Dubai government has also been investing heavily in this airport, which is projected to accommodate a whopping 75 million passengers per annum in the year 2011, it will probably take it to the 3rd position in the world's busiest airports.

These numbers become even more impressive, when we look at other airports appearing on top of the list, for example four of them are the central airports in United States, two in China, then we have the big names like London Heathrow Airport, Tokyo International airport, and the like. As you can see, Dubai is getting as much international traffic as the cities like London, New York or Tokyo. Apart from the passengers, 1.8 million tons of cargo also passed through this airport during 2008.

The airport that started functioning from just 2 international flights, back in 1937, today has turned into a hub for passengers and freight coming from all over the world. Presently it has four terminals, while another one is under construction. Dubai government has been working on construction and expansion of this airport, upon completion; it is estimated to be one of the biggest airports in the world.

Some people must be thinking (especially those who were busy telling stories of how Dubai has faltered big time), this traffic must have been those foreigners who are trying to abandon this place as soon as possible. Well, not really, as Dubai tourism statistics show an equally healthy figure, Dubai is still getting more tourists than the cities like Paris, London or Singapore and its peak season has not even started (Dubai gets most of its tourists in the months of July, August and September).

William King is the director of UAE Dubai Property Real Estate and Islamabad Property Islamabad Real Estate. He has 18 years of experience in the marketing and trading industries and has been helping retailers and startups with their product sourcing, promotion, marketing and supply chain requirements.

The CJ1+ Business Jet - Perfect For Private Jet Charter

The Citation CJ1+ is the latest version of the original must have private jet. This latest version of the jet has a whole pile of enhancements from performance, to fuel efficiency, to advanced avionics and an improved opulent interior. Whether you are buying this aircraft or you are a private jet charter passenger you are surely going to be in for a pleasant surprise.

This aircraft was originally created for the business entrepreneur owner/pilot but it is now loved by individuals as well as corporations. Seating six people it is perfect for flying small groups to that illusive island vacation or to business meetings abroad.

The interior of the CJ1+ has an all new interior including cabinetry and window shades. The roomy interior has neatly folding away writing table that stow neatly into the sidewalls. You can relax with the new refreshment center.

To reduce the sound of the already quiet engines the CJ1+ has special acoustic padding to ensure you have a peaceful journey. Moreover, with a ceiling altitude of 41,000 feet (12,497 m) this means you fly high above most weather which equates to greater speed and less turbulence.

The CJ1+ also has increased fuel efficiency over the original CJ1 private jet. It burns on average 132 gallons per hour which is less than the CJ1 despite a higher payload.

The CJ1+ has two powerful Williams FJ44-1AP engines that deliver a huge amount of thrust and performance. The surface of the aircraft has been redesigned to reduce drag and therefore improve efficiency. The aircraft also uses natural laminar flow wing delays the onset of flow separation longer, which improves the lift-to-drag characteristics ten to fifteen percent when compared to previous straight-wing designs.

Improvements in efficiency and power mean that the CJ1+ has an increased take-off weight of 300 pounds over the CJ1. These innovations mean greater range and payload flexibility which gives owners more options for flight planning. Despite the overall increase in weight the CJ1+ is actually faster than the CJ1. The CJ1+'s increased power has allowed it to have an increased baggage carrying capacity. The three baggage holds can stow up to 822 pounds of luggage.

Flying this aircraft is really easy as many of the systems are automated. Air from the engine is used as de-icing for the horizontal tail, wing edge and engine, in addition to the removal of rain from the cockpit windscreen. These automated systems help operators keeps costs down as they mean that just one pilot is required to fly this aircraft.

The flexibility and ease of use of this aircraft is evident by its ability to take off from a 4,000 foot runway in all types of adverse weather conditions, such as from hot temperatures and high elevation at maximum payload capacity. The re-design of the tail section has reduced the overall weight and size of the aircraft whilst maintaining the cabin size.

All of these technological improvements give this private jet aircraft the ability to climb to an altitude of 41,000 feet in only 27 minutes and cruise at 448 mph (720 km/hr). This makes the aircraft perfect for short flights that take up to just over an hour. For example, London to Nice, London to Rome, or London to Berlin. The ideal candidates for these aircraft are small business, like air charter companies, and individuals.

BMIbaby - The Airline With Tiny Fares Prize Winning 'No Frills' Airline

Low fares or no frills airline BMI Baby (usually styled as bmibaby) is instantly recognizable by its well known red and blue logo and its familiar slogan – the airline with tiny fares. So what is the this airline like?

Facts About BMIBaby

Bmibaby is a subsidiary of BMI, and a budget, or low fares, airline. It flies to a number of airports in Europe from its main bases at Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, and East Midlands. Although not as large as some of the other no frills airlines, the company is growing and becoming better known. It presently offers flights to 19 European destinations.

In 2007, the airline started an initiative for business travelers with a flexible ‘only choose what you need’ approach. The idea was that passengers had the option to choose from a range of services such as ticket flexibility, on-line check-in, and executive lounge access, and only needed to pay for the services they used
History of BMIbaby

The airline was established on 24th January 2002 and started operations a month later with a flight between East Midlands and Malaga. It soon expanded, opening further bases at Cardiff that same year, and the following year in Manchester and Durham Tees Valley. BMI Baby then began operating from Birmingham in 2005. However, the Durham Tees Valley operation closed in 2006 owing to insufficient passenger numbers.

By 2007, BMIbaby had nine Boeing 737 aircraft based at Birmingham Airport, which was by then their largest base. They now also operate a number of flights from East Midlands Airport.

The BMIBaby Fleet

The airline uses Boeing 737s exclusively, and has 14 Boeing 737-300s, each carrying 148 passengers, and 3 Boeing 737-500s, which can take 131 passengers. The average age of bmibaby’s fleet is 13.7 years. The word ‘baby’ is used in the title of several of the aircraft.

Other BMI Baby Services

BMI baby offers a number of in-flight services, and has a buy on board programme with scratch-cards, toys, and gifts; they also offer drinks, snacks, and sandwiches.

BMI baby was voted the ‘Best No Frills Airline’ in the Telegraph Group Travel Awards for three consecutive years, in 2003, 2004, and 2005. So while not the largest of the low cost airlines, BMI baby is certainly worth considering for anyone looking for a low cost flight to destinations within Europe.

Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner jet uses 27 percent less fuel per passenger

The new 787 Dreamliner jet from The Boeing Company has become the fastest selling airliner in history, largely due to the company pushing it as a more environmentally sustainable jet.

The 787, Boeing's first new jet in more than 10 years, is constructed from lightweight, carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic to allow greater fuel efficiency. According to the company, the Dreamliner uses 20 percent less fuel than other similarly sized aircraft.

In addition, the jet features raised cabin pressure and higher humidity to reduce symptoms such as headaches and itchy eyes; bigger windows that are dimmed electronically instead of with manual shades; sensors to automatically trigger turbulence-reducing measures; and specially treated engines to reduce noise pollution by up to 60 percent.

Boeing has already taken more than 600 orders for the 330-passenger plane from more than 47 customers, amounting to sales of more than $100 billion. The first deliveries will take place in May 2008.

"The Dreamliner is a step change in the industry," said Paul Charles, director of communications for Virgin Atlantic Airways. "It delivers for us with great fuel efficiency, cutting consumption by around 27 percent per passenger."

Virgin has ordered 15 Dreamliners, with the first four to be delivered in 2011, and has the option to buy another 20. The company will be using the planes to service new routes from London to Hawaii and Perth.

Airlines have increasingly come under fire recently for their contributions to carbon dioxide emissions and global warming, and Boeing is pushing the Dreamliner as a more eco-friendly jet. But not all environmentalists are impressed.

"This is a welcome step, because it's a significant improvement on what's gone before," said Richard Dyer, aviations campaigner for Friends of the Earth. "But we don't see this kind of improvement that often, and the growth in passengers completely overwhelms it."

Obese Air Passengers May be Charged Fees Based on Body Weight Due to Skyrocketing Fuel Prices

(NaturalNews) Hammered by rising fuel costs, airlines around the world are implementing new cost-cutting measures and considering others - possibly including charging passengers by weight, similar to the way that air freight is priced.

"If you look at the air-freight business, that's the way they've always done it," said Robert Mann, head of the aviation consulting firm R.W. Mann & Co. "We're getting treated like air freight when we travel by airlines, anyway." Mann predicted that charging passengers by their weight is a reasonable step that may not be far in the future.

Jet fuel prices have nearly tripled in the past decade, and now make up an estimated 40 percent of the operating costs for an airline. Due in large part to these rising costs, nine U.S. airlines shut down in the first half of 2008. The U.S. airline industry reported first quarter losses of $1.7 billion, and yearly losses are projected to hit $6.1 billion.

While no company yet charges obese passengers more, Southwest Airlines has moved in that direction by charging passengers for two seats if they are so large that the armrest on their side cannot be fully lowered.

Southwest is also cutting costs by flying its planes more slowly. Other measures companies are using include washing jet engines more regularly, using lighter dishes and charging passengers for checked bags.

Tim Clark, president of the Persian Gulf's largest airline carrier, Emirates, said his company has no plans to start weighing its passengers.

"That is something that when I was a check-in agent in the early 70s I used to do, and it was the most horrific experience, trying to get people to stand on scales," he said. "It's not something that we would do."

But David Castelveter, spokesperson for the trade group Air Transport Association, said that nothing can be ruled out.

"You listen to the airline CEOs, and nothing is beyond their imagination," he said. "They have already begun to think exotically. Nothing is not under the microscope."
